Xhorse Key Tool Max Convert Ford 4D63 40bit to 4D83 80bit Guide

This post will guide you step-by-step on how to convert an ID63 (4D-DST40) transponder chip to an ID83 (4D-DST80) format for Ford and Mazda cars using Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max.

1.Navigate to the "Transponder Clone" menu.

2.Choose the "Read Transponder" option.

3.Press the "Edit" button located at the bottom center.

4.Pick "DST+" from the list.

5.Swipe all the way down to the bottom of the screen.

6.Ensure the P30 value is configured as 0000. (CRITICAL: Do not read or scan the key/transponder again at this stage)

7.Tap on the zeros and input the appropriate code:

Enter 0046 to format as 40-Bit

Or Enter 0846 to format as 80-Bit

8.Press "OK" to confirm your entry.

9.Hit the pencil symbol located on the right-hand side.

10.A prompt saying "Write OK" should pop up, indicating success.

Is the Process Reversible?

Absolutely. The procedure can easily be undone. If you want to revert a DST40 chip back into a DST80 format, simply repeat the instructions outlined above. When you reach step 7, just replace the 0046 value with 0846 (or the specific input your device requires for DST80). Devices like Xhorse Key Tool Max fully support seamless, two-way switching between these transponder types.
